Returns and Exchanges
We hope you love what you ordered. But in case you don’t, American Public Safety will honor a 30 day return period on resalable items that are unworn, in new condition, and in original packaging along with all packaging attachments and enclosures, including all applicable tags, instructions, etc. that are purchased from our website. If your order falls outside that 30 day period please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you. If your item is damaged after use please reach out to us as most of our manufacturer’s offer warranties well beyond 30 days. Refunds will be applied to original credit card used at time of purchase and please allow 10-14 days from receipt of goods for refunds to post the refund to your account. Products returned without prior approval may be refused and returned to customer and shipping charges may be applied to original credit card used at the time of purchase.
American Public Safety reserves the right to charge a restocking fee based on the circumstances of your return. You will be notified of any restock fee when you are issued your Return Material Authorization # and further instruction for the return.
Footwear must be returned in existing box in new and unworn condition. Footwear must be shipped in outer packaging (poly bag or box). Any returns received in the original shoebox without any outer packaging used will incur a 25% restocking fee.
Postage will only be refunded on returns due to product defects or errors in shipping. American Public Safety will only honor returns for items purchased from our website.
Clothing and footwear items that are needing to be exchanged for a different size will be issued an RMA but you are responsible for the return shipping fees. We recommend that you use a traceable shipping method and insure products you plan to return, as we are not responsible for lost or damaged items during the return shipment. We will place your new order (freight will be covered by us) and charge your card so that we can ship the new product right away. Once the returned merchandise has come back to our warehouse and has been inspected, your original form of payment will be refunded (minus your original shipping charges).

- Clearance products
- Products with an expiration date
- Custom Products
- Collar insignia
- Ballistic vests
- Turnout Gear
- Custom embroidered products
American Public Safety normally ships in stock orders within 3-5 business days (Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays are not business days). Out of stock items will show their estimated shipping dates. If an item will fall outside of the estimated shipping date after the point of purchase (if the manufacturer is out of stock or behind on their typical delivery times), American Public Safety will contact you with a new estimated shipping date. If you would not want to keep the item on order at that point, we can cancel the order, as long as the item is not a custom item.
Please make sure to include a valid shipping address. We can ship to PO Boxes with USPS only. If your order is shipping UPS, we must have a physical address.
For orders sent outside the contiguous U.S. to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, an additional $20.00 will be added to all shipment services. Not all services are available to all locations. Heavy or bulky items require additional shipping due to size and weight. Additional charges appear in the cart.
